ALLAH – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
[Surat Al Falaq 113:1] Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammad – peace and blessings be upon him), “I take refuge 1 with the Lord of the Daybreak 2.”
[Surat Al Falaq 113:2] “From the mischief of all the creatures 3 created by Him.”
[Surat Al Falaq 113:3] “And from the evil of the darkness when it sets in 4.”
[Surat Al Falaq 113:4] “And from the evil of those witches who blow into knots 5.”
[Surat Al Falaq 113:5] “And from the evil of the envier when he is envious of me 6.”
During the 7th Hijri, just after the Treaty of Hudaibiyya, the Jewish chiefs said to their fellow Jew, Lubaid bin Asim, that your daughters are incomparable in witchcraft. We Want you to cast a magical spell on the Holy Prophet, (peace be upon him) . Lubaid, through the help of a Jewish servant, managed to obtain the teeth of a worn-out comb and a few blessed hair of the Holy Prophet and made an effigy from a candle and pierced eleven needles in it. In one chord, he tied eleven knots. Placing all this in the effigy, he pressed it firmly under a stone in the water of the well of Rawaan.
The effect of this on the thinking of the Holy Prophet was that he had erred in some worldly matters. This effect remained for a period of six months. Thereafter, Hazrat Jibraeel Ameen came down with these two Chapters, Al- Falaq and An- Naas, in which there are eleven verses about this witchcraft and gave it to the Holy Prophet. Hazrat Ali was sent to take out all these things, used for the witchcraft, from the bottom of the well. The Holy Prophet recited these verses. At each verse, one knot became loose and in this way all the knots became loose and the Messenger of ALLAH recovered from its effects. From it, emerge a few benefits:
[Surah Falaq verse 1] : It means that just as Almighty Allah removes the night through the morning, likewise, He grants cure to illnesses through prayers. It tells us that one offering dua should remember Him with His Attributes, in accordance with his needs.
[Surah Falaq verse 2] : Whether man, animals, jinn or inanimate creation. This is a very comprehensive dua.
[Surah Falaq verse 3] : It means that when the moon becomes black during the lunar eclipse, or it remains out of view at the end of the month because these times are put into much use for witchcraft. From this, we understand that some of the times are inauspicious and ominous. Seek the refuge of Almighty Allah from these. Says Allah Almighty: ”In the day there is ill-fortune”.
[Surah Falaq verse 4] : It means the daughters of Lubaid who were practicing witchcraft had blown on the blessed hair of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) through a chord string and made eleven knots. From this, we learn that if there is an effect in the blowing of the magician, then surely how much effect will there not be in the verses of Allah and His Blessed Names if they are recited and blown on a person? Thus, to recite the verses of the Holy Qur’an on the ill persons and blow on them and make them into charms, etc. and knotting them is permissible. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) would blow on sick persons.
[Surah Falaq verse 5] : An envious person is he who desires the decline in the bounties of others while MANGHABAT is that person who desires for himself those bounties that are possessed by others. Envy is totally evil while Ghabata is permissible in matters of religion. Envy is that first sin which took place in heaven by Shaitaan and by Qabeel on the Earth. Everyone is fully aware of their consequences. From this, we learn that witchcraft and envy are two of the worst sins because after mentioning the common sins, these two have been mentioned specifically.
Bismillaahir Rah’maanir Rah’eem
ALLAH ke naam se shuru jo bohat meharban, Rahem wala
Surah Falaq Madaniyya hai aur ek qaul yeh hai keh Makkiyah hai. Pehla qaul zyada sahih hai. Is surat mein ek ruku, 5 aayatein hain.
Shaan e Nuzool: Yeh surat aur Surat An Naas us waqt nazil huwi jab ke Lubaid bin A’asim Yahudi aur iske betiyon ne Huzoor (ﷺ) par jadu kiya aur Huzoor ke Jism mubarak aur aaza par uska asar zahir huwa. Qalb wa aqal wa aitiqaad par kuch asar na huwa. Chand roz ke baad Hazrat Jibrael a’laihissalam aaye aur unhone arz kiya keh ek yahudi ne aap par Jadu kiya hai. Aur Jadu ka jo kuch saman hai woh fulan kuwen mein ek patthar ke neeche daab diya hai. Huzoor (ﷺ) ne Hazrat Ali ko bheja. Inhone kuwen ka pani nikalne ke baad pathar uthaya. Uske neeche khajoor ke ghabe ki thaili bar-aamad huwi. Isme huzoor ke mooye shareef jo kangee se baraamad huwe the aur huzoor ki kangee ke chand dandane aur ek dora ya kaman ka challa jisme 11 gireh thin aur ek moom ka putla jisme 11 suiyan chubi thin. Yeh sab saman paththar ke neeche se nikala aur Huzoor ki khidmat mein hazir kiya gaya. ALLAH tala ne yeh dono suratein nazil farmayi. In donon suraton mein 11 aayatein hain. 5 surah falaq mein, har ek aayat ke padhne ke saath hi ek girah khulti jaati thi yahan tak keh saari girah khul gayi aur Huzoor bilkul tandrust hogaye.
Mas-ala : Taweez ya amal jisme koi kalma kufriya ya shirkiya na ho jaiz hai. Khas karda woh amal jo ayat e Quraniya se kiye jaayen ya Ahadith mein warid huwe hon. Hadith mein hai keh Asma binte A’mees ne arz kiya, “Ya RasoolALLAH Jafar ke bachon ko jald jald nazar hoti hai. Kya mujhe ijazat hai keh unke liye a’mal karun? Huzoor nr ijazat di.
[Surat Al Falaq ayat 1] : Ta’wwuz mein ALLAH ta’ala ka uske sifat ke sath zikr isliye hai, ALLAH ta’ala Subah paida karke shab ki tareeki door farmata hai. Woh Qadir hai keh panah chahne wale ko jin halat se khauf hai unko door farmaye. Neiz jis tarah shab tar mein aadmi subah ka intezar karta hai, isi tarah khaif aman wa rahat ka muntazir rehta hai. Jis waqt arbab e karam wa gham ko kashaish di jati hain aur duawein qubool ki jati hain mai us waqt ke paida karne wale ki panah chahta hun. Ek qaul yeh bhi hai keh Falaq jahannum mein ek waadi hai.
[Surat Al Falaq ayat 2] : Jaandar ho ya be-jaan, mukallaf ho ya ghair e mukallaf, Baaz mufassireen ne farmaya hai keh makhlooq se muraad khas iblees hai jisse badtar makhlooq mein koi nahi aur jadu ke amal iski aur iske lashkar ki madad se poore hote hain.
[Surat Al Falaq ayat 3] : Hazrat Ummul Mo’mineen Ayesha radiallahu a’nha se marwi hai keh Rasool e Kareem (ﷺ) ne chand ki taraf nazar karke inse farmaya: Aye Ayesha ALLAH ki panah lo uske shar se, yeh andheri dalne wala hai jab doobe. (Tirmidhi). Yani aakhir maah mein jab chand chup jaaye toh jadu ke woh amal jo beemar karne ke liye hain usi waqt mein kiye jaate hain.
[Surat Al Falaq ayat 4] : Yani jadugar auratein jo dooron mein giroh laga lagakar inme jadu ke mantar padh padhkar phunkti hain jaise ki Lubaid ki ladkiyan. Mas-ala : Quarni ayatein padhkar girah lagana ya aayate Quraniya ya Asma e Ilahiya padhkar mareez par dum karna jaiz hai. Jamhoor Sahaba aur tabae’en isi par hain. Aur Hadith e Ayesha mein hai keh jab Huzoor sayyid e aalam (ﷺ) ke ahel mein e koi beemar hota toh huzoor mauo’ozat padhkar uspar dum farmate.
[Surat Al Falaq ayat 5] : Hasad wala woh hai jo dosre ki zawal e naimat ki tamanna kare.
