Sweetness Of Imaan Hadith In English
It is narrated by Anas (May ALLAH be pleased with) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever possesses three qualities will have the sweetness of faith.
- Almighty ALLAH and his Messenger are dearer to him than anything else.
- That he loves a person only for the sake of Almighty ALLAH.
- And that he hates reverting into disbelief like he hates to be thrown into the fire.
Commentary
In this Hadith, 3 qualities are been mentioned. Whoever completes it will have the sweetness of Imaan. It is clear that, Imaan has taste and sweetness which can be felt only through the heart like the taste of eatables and drinks can be felt only with tongue. Because Imaan is the heart’s food and strength like the food is the strength of his body. As the body recognizes taste and sweetness only when its health condition is normal. And when it is sick, even the sweetness tastes bitter. Likewise, a person’s heart also recognizes the sweetness of Imaan only when it is safe from diseases and sins. When his heart is immersed in fulfilling his lust and self desires then, he will not sense the taste of Imaan and he will gain pleasure in doing forbidden acts and fulfilling his lust. For this sake, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, when a person is in the state of committing adultery, he will not be a believer. Because, if his faith was real, he would have stayed away from the pleasure of forbidden acts and would have experienced pleasure in obeying Almighty ALLAH and his messenger.
Love of ALLAH and the Prophet and the stages of love
Among these 3 qualities, the first quality is that to a muslim, Almighty ALLAH and his messenger must be dearer than anyone else. And the love of ALLAH will be created through gaining knowledge about his attributes, names, greatness, and his plans. Through focusing on his miraculous powers, knowledge, abilities, one will realize of his mercy. And by observing his bounties and thanking him, his love will be created. It is mentioned in a Hadith that Ibne A’bbas (May ALLAH be pleased with) says, the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said, love ALLAH because he gives you sustenance from his bounties. And because of the love of ALLAH, love me and due to my love, love the people of my house.
So, whoever got the closeness of ALLAH, he will love ALLAH, And whoever loves ALLAH will obey him. And there are stages of love. The first level is of the obligatory one. Means the love of ALLAH, deserves that one must act on the obligatory commands of the Almighty. And stay away from his forbidden commands. At least this stage must be acquired by everyone in the love of ALLAH. Otherwise, he will be a liar in his claim. Because whoever committed forbidden act or kept himself away from fulfilling his obligatory and necessary duties, its reason is that, in his heart, the love of ALLAH is less. Due to that he preferred his self desires over the commands of the Almighty. If his heart was filled with real love of ALLAH, then would not have kept himself away from his compulsory duties nor kept his interest in forbidden deeds. The second stage of ALLAH’s love is acting on recommended deeds and protecting himself from non-recommended deeds. Continuing of recommended deeds to gain ALLAH’s pleasure and be patient on the difficulties he face in the way of ALLAH and be happy with the will of Almighty ALLAH.
There are two stages in the love of RasoolALLAH as well. One is obligatory. That is act on the obligatory deeds which the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) commanded. And protect one-self from forbidden deeds. The second stage is to act on the sunnah, manners and character of the Prophet. Follow the messenger’s lifestyle, lead the life in his way, focus more on the hereafter instead of this life.
A muslim should love other person for the sake of ALLAH
In this hadith, the second quality mentioned is that a person should love only for the sake of ALLAH. Loving because of ALLAH comes under laws of Imaan and it is the high stage.
Hazrat Mua’az bin Anas Juhni (May ALLAH be pleased with) says, the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was questioned about the best faith. The Prophet answered, “You love because of ALLAH, hate because of ALLAH abd youe tongue remains busy in the remembrance of Almighty ALLAH.”
Relation of this second quality with the first is that whoever keeps ALLAH and his messenger dearer to him then anyone else, his entire love will be in the cause of ALLAH. It will be must that his friendship and enmity is both for the sake of ALLAH. And he will not preferring his self desires over the love of ALLAH and his messenger.
Hates reverting into disbelief like he hates to be thrown into the fire
Third quality is, that the muslim dislikes to revert into shirk like he dislikes to be thrown into fire. When the faith becomes stronger in the heart of a person, he will have the sweetness of Imaan and loves to safeguard his faith permanently.
Almighty ALLAH states in the Holy Quran,
“Allah has made faith dear to you and has instilled it in your hearts, and has made disbelief and rebellion and disobedience abhorred by you; it is people like these who are on guidance.” (Surah Hujurat, verse 7)
Abu zain a’qeeli states, I asked the messenger of ALLAH (peace be upon him) , O Messenger of ALLAH, what is Faith (Imaan)? The Prophet replied, You bear witness that there is no God, besides ALLAH, he is alone, he does not have any partner. And Mohammad (peace be upon him) is his respected servant and messenger. And that Almighty ALLAH and his messenger are dearer to you than anything else. And to you reverting back into disbelief must be more disliked than being thrown into fire. And you love others for the sake of ALLAH. So, if you become as such, the love of Imaan will enter in your heart like the love of water in the heart of a thirsty person during severe summer days.
Halawatul Imaan
Is baab ki baab e sabiq se munasibat yeh hai keh is baab mein yeh bayan kiya gaya hai keh Imaan ki mithaas 3 cheezon se mohabbat hai aur baab e sabiq mein inme se ek cheez ki mohabbat ko bayan kiya gaya tha. Aur woh RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ke saath mohabbat hai. So, in donon baabon mein juz aur kul ki munasibat hai.
Imam Bukhari riwayat karte hain keh Mohammad bin Mushanna ne kaha, hamein A’bdul wahab Saqafi ne hadith bayan ki , inhone kaha, hamein Ayyub ne az Abi Qilaaba az Hazrat Anas (radiallahu a’nhu) hadith bayan ki keh Nabi (ﷺ) ne farmaya, “Jis shaks mein 3 khaslatein hon, woh iman ki mithas ko paalega.”
- Yeh keh uske nazdeek ALLAH aur uska Rasool unke maa siwa se zyada mehboob ho.
- Yeh keh woh jis shaks se bhi mohabbat kare sirf ALLAH ke liye mohabbat kare.
- Aur yeh keh uske nazdeek kufr mein lautna is tarah na-pasandeeda ho jaise aag mein dala jana na-pasandeeda hai.
Tashreeh:
Hadith mazkoor mein 3 khaslaton ka zikr farmaya jisne inko mukammal karliya woh imaan ki mithas ko paalega. Isse maloom huwa keh imaan zaiqa aur mithas hai jisko sirf dil se mehsoos kiya jasakta hai, jaise khane peene ki cheezon ka zaiqa aur mithas sirf zuban se mehsoos ki jati hai. Kyunkeh imaan uski ghiza aur iski quwwat hai, jaise khane peene ki cheezein badan ki ghiza aur iski quwwat hain.
Aur jis tarah jism ko khane peene ki cheezon ki lazzat aur mithas usi waqt pata chalta hai jab jism sahih aur tandrust ho aur jab jism beemar ho toh isko meethi cheezein bhi kadwi lagti hain, jaise jis shaks par safra ka ghalba ho, usko aisa hi lagta hai. Isi tarah insan ka dil bhi imaan ki mithaas usi waqt pata hai jab uska dil beemariyon aur aafaton se mehfooz ho aur jab uska dil gumrahi aur shehwat ke marz mein mubtala ho toh phir woh imaan ki mithas nahi pata balke woh haram kaamon aur shehwat ke taqazay poore karne mein lazzat pata hai. Isi wajeh se Nabi (ﷺ) ne farmaya, jis waqt koi zaani zina karta hai toh us waqt who momin nahi hota. (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Tirmidi, Sunan Ibn e Maja) kyunke agar uska imaan kamil hota toh woh imaan ki mithas ko pata aur haram kaamon ki mithas se mustaghni hojata. So jis tarah beemari ke saath khane peene ki cheezon mein lazzat nahi aati , usi tarah haram kaamon aur gunahon ke saath ibadat mein lazzat nahi aati.
ALLAH aur uske Rasool ki mohabbat ke asbaab aur unki mohabbat ke darjaat
In 3 khaslaton mein se sabse pehli khaslat yeh hai keh insan ke nazdeek ALLAH aur uske Rasool unke maa siwa se zyada mehboob ho aur ALLAH ki mohabbat uski marifat se paida hoti hai. Aur uski marifat ka kamal uske Asma, sifaat aur uske afa’aal ki marifat se hasil hota hai. Aur jin kaamon mein uski hikmatein, fawaid aur ajaaib hain unme gaur karne se uski qudrat, uski hikmat, uske ilm aur uski rahmat ka pata chalta hai.
So, jisko ALLAH ki marifat hasil hogi, woh ussay mohabbat karta hai aur jo issay mohabbat karta hai, woh uski ita’at karta hai.
Woh yeh hai keh jin faraiz ka apne hukum diya hai, unpar amal kiya jaaye . Aur jin haram kaamon se apne mana kiya hai, unse ijtinaab kiya jaaye. Apke ahkam par amal karne mein apne dil mein tangi na paaye aur dosra darja apki sunnaton, aadaab, akhlaq ki itteba karna hai. Apki seerat aur apke hasan muashrat mein apki iqtada karna hai. Aap ke akhlaq mutakhlaq hona hai, dunya se zyada aakhirat mein raghbat karna hai, sakhawat, eesaar, dar guzar karne, hilm aur tawazey ko apnana hai aur RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ke akhlaq baatina mein ALLAH se sabse zyada darna aur ussay sabse zyada mohabbat aur ussay mulaqat ka shauq, uski qaza par raazi rehna, uskay saath qalb ka daaemi talluq, uspar tawakkul aur aiteqad, zaban ka uskay zikr se tar rehna, khalwat mein ussay dua aur munajaat karna, tadabbur aur tafaqqur se uski kitab ki tilawat karna. Khulasa yeh hai keh RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ka akhlaq Quran e kareem tha. Aap ALLAH ki raza se raazi aur uski naraazi se naraaz hote the. Pas jo log apne qaul, amal aur haal mein apki sabse zyada mutabia’at karne wale hain woh apki ummat ke siddiqeen hain jinke sarkheel Hazrat Abu Bakr aur apke baad ke khulfaa hain.
Insan jisse bhi mohabbat kare, ALLAH ke sabab se mohabbat kare
Is hadith mein dosri khaslat yeh bayan farmayi hai keh insan jisse bhi mohabbat kare sirf ALLAH ke liye mohabbat kare, Aur ALLAH ke sabab se mohabbat karna usool e imaan se hai aur iska sabse aala darja hai, hadith mein hai,
Hazrat Mua’az bin Anas Juhni (radiallahu a’nhu) bayan karte hain keh Nabi (ﷺ) se afzal imaan ke mutalliq suwal kiya gaya, toh apne farmaya, “Tum ALLAH ke sabab se mohabbat karo aur ALLAH ke sabab se bughz rakho aur tumhari zuban ALLAH ke zikr mein amal karti rahe.”
Is dosri khaslat ki pehli ke sath munasibat yeh hai keh jis shaks ke nazdeek ALLAH aur uske Rasool unke maa siwa se zyada mehboob hoga, uski tamam mohabbat ALLAH ke liye hogi. Aur usko yeh laazim hai keh uski dosti bhi ALLAH ke sabab se ho aur uski dushmani bhi ALLAH ke sabab se ho, aur uske nafs mein apni koi khwaish na ho. Aur ALLAH aur uske Rasool ki mohabbat jab hi mukammal hogi, jab uske auliya se mohabbat rakhi jaaye aur uske dushmano se bughz rakha jaaye.
Kufr karna aag mein jhonke jaane ke mutaraadif hai
Teesri khaslat yeh hai keh uske nazdeek kufr mein lautna aisa na-pasandeeda ho jaise aag mein dala jana na-pasandeeda hai. Jab insan ke dil mein imaan raasikh aur mutahaqqiq hojata hai toh wo imaan ki mithas pata hai aur imaan ke dawam aur sabaat se mohabbat karta hai. Aur imaan ko chodna uske nazdeek sabse zyada na-pasandeeda hota hai, jaise uske nazdeek aag mein jhonka jana na-pasandeeda hai. Quran majeed mein hai:
“Lekin ALLAH ne tumhare dilon mein imaan ko mehboob bana diya aur usko tumhare dilo mein khush numa bana diya. Aur usne tumhare nazdeek kufr, nafarmani aur gunahon ko na-pasandeeda bana diya.” (Al-Hujurat Verse 7)
Abu zain a’qeeli bayan karte hain keh mai RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ki khidmat mein hazir huwa aur maine arz kiya, Ya RasoolALLAH, imaan ki kya tareef hai? Apne farmaya, tum yeh shahadat do keh ALLAH ke siwa koi ibadat ka mustahiq nahi hai, woh akela hai, uska koi shareek nahi hai aur beshak sayyiduna Mohammad (ﷺ ) uske banday aur uske Rasool hain. Aur ALLAH aur uska Rasool tumhein unke maa siwa se mehboob ho aur tumhare nazdeek aag mein jal jana issay zyada na-pasandeeda ho keh tum ALLAH ke saath shirk karo aur tum kisi umda nasab wale se gair se sirf ALLAH a’zzawajal ke sabab se mohabbat karo. So jab tum is tarah hojaoge toh tumhare dil mein imaan ki mohabbat is tarah dakhil hojayegi jis tarah shadeed garmi ke din mein, pyase ke dil mein pani ki mohabbat dakhil hoti hai.
