The relation of this chapter with previous is that in the previous chapters 9 and 14, 3 qualities of a muslim were discussed. (Almighty ALLAH and his Messenger are dearer to him than anything else, loving a person only for the sake of Almighty ALLAH. Hate to revert into disbelief like one hates to be thrown into the fire.)
And in this chapter, the grades ino superiority of muslims over each other is described because each person is different in amount of gaining the above said 3 qualities.
It is narrated by Ab Sae’ed Al-Khudri (radiallahu a’nhu): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will go to Hell, ALLAH will order those who have had faith equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed to be taken out from the Hell. So they will be taken out but (by then) they will be blackened like a charcoal. Then they will be put in the river of hayah or hayat (life), and they will revive like a grain that grows near the bank of a flood channel. Don’t you see that it comes out yellow and twisted?”
Wuhaib stated: While narrating us the hadith of A’mr in which the word hayat (life) is used. Moreover he said, “…goodness equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, The Book Of The Faith, Chapter 15, Hadith 22)
Meaning
A muslim will be rescued at the end. The meaning of the hadith is some muslims sinners will be put into the hell. Later on, after receiving punishment, they will be rescued from the hell due to their faith. Because of staying in the hell, they would have become black like a charcoal. Then they will be put into the river of life, due to which they will come back to their normal situation and become healthy.
Rulings and Evidences from the hadith
- In this hadith there is an evidence against marjiya sect who say that a muslim sinner will not get punishment in the hereafter. But the hadith states that they will be put into the hell for a particular period of time and they will become black like a charcoal.
- There is an evidence against khwariji and mua’tazila sects woh say that a muslim sinner will get never-ending punishment. But in this hadith, it is said that he will be taken out of the hell.
- It is known from the hadith that good deeds are a part of best faith not the part of the faith itself. And whoever performed more good deeds, he will be having superiority likewise over the less performer of deeds.
Other Hadiths related to this topic
- It is narrated by Abu Sae’ed (Radiallahu a’nhu) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, People of hell are those who are the inmates of the hell. In it, they will neither survive nor die. But whoever is burnt by the fire due to their sins, then Almighty ALLAH will bring death on them. When they become like a charcoal, the permission for intercession will be given and that they will be brought out in groups. Then it will be said, O the people of heaven put water on them. Then they will start growing like a seed grows in muddy watered areas and in wastage. (Sahih Muslim, Sunan Ibn e Maja). The meaning of ‘ALLAH will bring death on them’ might be that their consciousness will be impaired to such an extent that they will not realize the pain anymore.
- Abu Huraira (radiallahu a’nhu) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, Indeed the least space in the heaven will be occupied by those whom ALLAH rescued from the hell. Almighty ALLAH would have become happy with them because they would not have associated anyone with him. They will be kept in a field where they will grow like vegetation and when their souls will be reverted back into their body, then they will say, ‘O our Lord, you removed us from the hellfire and has put our souls into our body. Now turn our face as well from the fire. Then their faces will also be turned away from the fire.
Musalman ke mukhtalif darajat amal ki bina par
Is baab ki baab e sabiq ke saath munasibat yeh hai keh baab e sabiq mein imaan ki 3 khaslatein
(Jiske nazdeek ALLAH aur uska Rasool uske maa siwa se zyada mehboob hon. Jo shaks kisi banday se sirf ALLAH ke liye mohabbat kare. Jis shaks ko ALLAH ne kufr se nijat di ho, wo uske baad kufr mein lautne ko isi tarah napasand karta ho jis tarah aag mein daale jane ko napasand karta hai.)
bayan ki gayi thi.
Aur is baab mein momineen ki ek dosre par fazilat ka bayan hai aur zahir hai keh in 3 khaslaton ke husool mein momineen ek dosre se mukhtalif hote hain. Aur jisme yeh khaslatein zyada hongi uska imaan dosre se afzal hoga.
Imam Bukhari riwayat karte hain keh hamein Ismaeel ne hadith bayan ki, inhone kaha: Mujhe Imam Malik ne az A’mr bin Yah’ya Maazini az walid e khud az Hazrat Abu Sae’ed Khudri (radiallahu a’nhu) hadith bayan ki keh Nabi (ﷺ) ne farmaya keh jannat wale jannat mein dakhil hojayenge aur dozakh wale dozakh mein dakhil hojayenge. Phir ALLAH ta’ala farmayega: Jiske dil mein raayi ke daane ke barabar bhi iman ho usko dozakh se nikal lo, phir un logon ko dozakh se nikal liya jayega jo jalkar koyle ki tarah siya hochuke honge. Phir unko hayah ya hayat ke darya mein daal diya jayega. Phir woh is tarah taro taza hojayenge jis tarah selab ke kinaray mitti mein sabza ugta hai. Kya tumne nahi dekha keh woh beej dar beej zard rang mein muda huwa nikalta hai?
Waheyb ne kaha, A’mr ki hadith mein hayat ka lafz hai aur kaha: “….Raayi ke daane ke barabar khair ho.” (Sahih Muslim)
(Sahih Bukhari, Jild 1, Kitab 2, Kitab ul iman, Baab 15, Hadith 22)
Tashreeh
‘Mithqaal’ – Yeh asal isme aala hai aur yahan mutlaq wazan aur miqdaar murad hai.
Momin anjam kaar nijat payega – Is hadith ka matlab yeh hai kuch momin gunahgaar aise bhi honge jo jahannum mein daale jayenge. Phir iman ki badaulat jahannum se nikale jayenge. Jahannum mein rehne ki wajeh se yeh kale hojayenge. Inko nehar e hayat ya nehar e hayah mein ghot diya jayega jisse woh apni halat par aakar tar o taza hojayenge.
Hadith mazkoor ke masail
- Is hadith mein marjiya ke khilaf Ahle sunnat ki daleel hai kyuke marjia kehte hain momin sahib e kabeera ko a’zaab nahi hoga aur is hadith mein tasreeh hai keh usko azaab diya jayega hatta keh woh jalkar koila hojayega.
- Is hadith mein khwariji aur mua’tazila ke khilaf Ahle sunnat ki daleel hai, kyuke woh kehte hain keh momin sahib e kabeera ko daaemi (Kabhi khatam na hone wala) azaab hoga. Aur is hadith mein tasreeh hai keh usko dozakh se nikal liya jayega.
- Is hadith se maloom huwa ke aamaal, kamil-e-iman mein dakhil hain na keh nafs-e-iman mein. Aur jisne jitna zyada amal kiya hoga uski kam amal karne wale par utni hi fazilat hogi.
Hadith mazkoor ki maweed degar Ahaadith
- Hazrat Abu Sae’ed (Radiallahu a’nhu) bayan karte hain keh RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ne farmaya: Baherhal ahle dozakh woh hain jo dozakh ke ahl hain. Phir kaha jayega, Aye jannat walon inpar pani dalo. Phir woh is tarah ugne lagenge jis tarah sabza ka beejh, sailab ki mitti aur kooday mein ugta hai. (Sahih Muslim, Sunan Ibn e Maja). Is hadith mein jo inpar maut taari karne ka farmaya hai, hosakta hai keh ussay yeh murad ho keh unke hawas zaaya kardiye jaayenge hatta keh inhe jalkar koila hone ka shao’or nahi hoga jaise kisi insan ko behosh karke uski surjery ki jati hai toh isko dard ka idrak nahi hota. A’llama Nawawi mein bhi is hadith ka ek yehi mahmal bayan kiya hai.
- Hazrat Abu Huraira (radiallahu a’nhu) bayan karte hain keh Nabi (ﷺ) ne farmaya, Beshak ahle jannat ka sabse kam hissa woh log honge jinko ALLAH dozakh se nikal lega. ALLAH a’zzawajal unse is liye khush hoga keh inhone ALLAH a’zzawajal ke saath kisi ko shareek nahi kiya hoga. Unko ek maidan mein rakha jayega. Woh usme us tarah ugengay jis tarah sabza ugta hai hatta keh jab unki roohein unke jismo mein dakhil hongi toh woh kahenge, Aye hamare Rab, tune hamein dozakh ki aag se nikal liya aur hamari roohon ko hamare jismo mein dakhil kardiya, ab hamare chehre ko bhi aag se pher de. Phir unke chehro ko bhi aag se pher diya jayega.
