Huroof e Mufridaat

Guidelines of Noorani Qaida Lesson 1:

Every language has it’s own set of alphabets defined, and so is the case with the beautiful Arabic Language. It contains a total of 29 letters. In this lesson, you should focus on identification of right place of pronouncing each and every letter. And practice on proper pronunciation.

How to pronounce?

Al-Halq letters

ء ه = Pronounce from the lower region of your throat

ع ح= Pronounce from the middle portion of your throat

غ خ=Pronounce from the upper portion (pharynx) of your throat

Al-Lisan Letters

Lahwiyya Letters

ق = Pronounce it from the root of your tongue and soft palate.

ك = Pronounce it from the root of your tongue and the hard palate.

Shajariyyah letters

ج   ش  ي = Pronounce them from the middle surface of your tongue and the middle of the palate.

Hafiyah letter

ض = Pronounced by slightly folding the tongue i.e., from the side of the tongue and the roots of the upper molars.

Tarafiyah letters

 ل ن ر = From edge of your tongue and the part of the roots of the teeth towards the palate

Nitiyya letters

ت د ط = Pronounced from the tip of the tongue and the roots of upper front teeth.

Lisaawiyah letters

ث ذ ظ = Top of the tongue and the inner edges of the upper teeth.

Safiriyah Letters

ز س ص = From tip of the tongue and the inner edges of both (front upper) teeth

Shafawiyyah letters

ف = from edge of the upper front teeth and the wet part of the lower lip

ب = From the wet parts of both the lips

م = From dry parts of both the lips

و = By rounding both the lips.
