Surah Baqarah Verse 8, 9 Transliteration
“Wa minannaasi man yaqoolu aamanna billahi wa bil yaumil aakhiri wa maahum bi-mu`mineen. [# Al Baqarah: Verse 8]
YuKhadi-o’onALLAHa walladheena aamanoo. Wa maa yakhdao’oona illaa anfusahum wa maa yasho’roon.” [# Al Baqarah: Verse 9]
Surah Baqarah Verse 8, 9 Translation
“And among the people are some (hypocrites) that say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day (the Day of Resurrection)” whereas they are not believers!” [# Al Baqarah: Verse 8]
“They wish to deceive Allah and the believers; and in fact they deceive none except themselves and they do not have any understanding.” [# Al Baqarah: Verse 9]
Surah Baqarah Verse 8, 9 Explanation
The hypocrites said: “We believe in Allah and in the Hereafter”. And the Jews neither really believed in Allah and nor in the Hereafter. They did not believe in Allah because they used to say, U’zair is the son of Allah, so they were polytheists. And they did not have faith in the Hereafter, because they had faith that no one would enter the Paradise except the Jews.
Therefore, they just said that they have faith in Allah and the Hereafter as an act of pretension , so that the Muslims would think that they had become pure Muslims by quitting their wrong beliefs.
Allah Almighty rejected them and said that they are not believers, that is, they are not of those true and sincere Muslims who believe that Allah is aware of their (situations in) aggregations and loneliness.
The hypocrites used to perform visible deeds of worship but their hearts used to disbelief. And they used to think that their Lord would be pleased with them. After that, they used to engage themselves in greed, envy, corruption, deception and dishonesty with the (sincere) Muslims, as it is stated in the next verses, in detail about their mischief and corruptions.
Hypocrites trying to deceive Allah and Muslims meaning
‘YuKhadio’ona‘ means to hide the conspiracy and deceit planned against some person and pretend to be his well wisher and sympathizer, that is to deceive someone.
The conspiracy of hypocrites against Muslims was that they used to pretend as believers of Islam in front of Muslims and would hide their disbelief to know the secrets of the Muslims. And then they used to send its information to the enemies of Muslims that is polytheists and Jews.
In this verse it is said that hypocrites (try to) deceive Allah and Muslims. Now the question is: How can they deceive Allah? Because nothing is hidden from Allah. Nor did they themselves intend to deceive Allah?
- The answer to this is that there is a hidden object ‘Rasool ‘here before the word Allah. It’s meaning is that they used to deceive the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
- The second answer is that the Prophet (ﷺ) is the caliph of Allah Almighty. Therefore, the matter carried out with the Messenger of Allah is the matter dealt with Allah. Therefore, deceiving the Prophet (ﷺ) is to deceive Allah, as Allah has made clear in this verse:
“Whoever obeys the Noble Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah” (Al Nisa 80)
During the second pledge of Uqba, the Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) purchased 70 Ansaar’s lives and wealth in exchange for Paradise, then Allah Almighty said,
“Indeed, Allah has purchased the life and property of Muslims for Paradise“. (Al-Fatah 10)
So, as to obey the Prophet is to obey Allah, to deal with the messenger is to deal with Allah. And to promise the messenger is to promise Allah, so to deceive the Prophet is to deceive Allah.
Shao’or meaning
Allah Almighty said, “They only deceive themselves. And they don’t understand”. So, they do not have sense and do not perceive.
Hypocrisy
There are two types of hypocrisy. The first is hypocrisy in deeds which is very prevalent at present. And the second is hypocrisy in belief. There are 3 cases of the hypocrisy in belief.
- First is the heart did not believe at all in the Prophet (ﷺ). Rather, the heart was certainly denying, but due to fear of loss in some worldly matters, this inner feeling was hidden and their appearance was against their inner feeling.
- Secondly, looking at the good condition of the Muslims, they used to get attracted towards them, but in the case of unpleasant circumstances, they used to change their beliefs.
- Thirdly, a small light of truth glew in their heart but worldly desires again dominated and made them oppose Islam.
The worst enemies of Islam
All the three above mentioned types were present at the time of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). And they proved to be the worst enemies of Islam and the snakes of the sleeves. The amount of damage caused to Muslims and Islam by these hidden enemies was much much greater then the open enemies.
Therefore, their veil was broken in a complete ruku of each chapter Al Munafiqoon, Al Tauba, and Al Baqarah and many other verses, and strict rules were descended regarding those hypocrites. The companions of the Prophet and sincere Muslims were so frightened after listening to the verses that due to even slight variations in the situation between their inner feelings and external appearance, they used to doubt about hypocrisy.
Surah Baqarah Ayat 8, 9 Roman Urdu
Ayat 8, 9 Tarjuma
(Aur yeh aayaat munafiqeen ke baare mein nazil huwi hain) Aur baaz woh hain jo kehte hain keh hum imaan laaye ALLAH par aur aakhri din (yani qayamat par keh woh dino mein aakhri din hai) halankeh woh bilkul imaan nahi laaye hain. [# Al Baqarah: Ayat 8]
Yeh log ALLAH aur musalmano se chalbaazi karte hain (apne baatini kufr ke khilaf zahir karke taake kufr ki dunyawi saza se mehfooz rehsakein). Aur waqey mein kisi ke saath bhi chaal bazi nahi karte siwaye apni janon ke (isliye keh is chaalaki ki wabaal bil aakhir unhi ki taraf lautega, chunanche dunya mein toh is tarah zaleel honge ke ALLAH ke Nabi unki batini khabasaton se aagaah kardenge aur aakhirat mein sazayaab honge) aur iska shao’or aur ilm nahi rakhte (keh unki chalaki unhi par asar andaaz horahi hai). [# Al Baqarah: Ayat 9]
Surah Baqarah Ayat 8, 9 Tashreeh
Wa minan naasi mein jin logon ka zikr farmaya hai, yeh munafiqeen ki woh jamaat hai jo nazool e Quran ke zamane mein thi. Inme bada munafiq A’bdullah bin Abi binSalool tha. Inme aksar yahoodi the jo matlab bar aawari ke liye waqti taur par ba zahir musalman hogaye the.
ALLAH par imaan isliye nahi tha keh woh kehte the U’zair ALLAH ke betay hai, isliye woh mushrik the. Aur aakhirat par isliye imaan nahi tha keh inka aiteqaad tha keh jannat mein yahoodiyo ke siwa koi dakhil nahi hoga.
Isliye inhone malmakari ke taur par ALLAH aur aakhirat par imaan ka zikr kiya taake musalman yeh samjhe keh woh yahudiyat se taayib hokar khalis musalman hogaye hain.
ALLAH ta’ala ne inka rad karte huwe farmaya keh woh momin nahi hain, yani woh un sache aur muskhlis musalmano mein dakhil nahi hain jinka yeh aqeeda hai keh ALLAH ta’ala inki khalwat aur jalwat mutallaey hai. Kyunke munafiqeen baaz zahiri ibadaat karlete the. Aur yeh zaa’m karte the keh inse inka rab raazi hojayega. Iske baad hirs, tama, shar wa fasad, musalmano ke sath khayanat mein mashghool rehte the jaisa keh iske baad ki aayaton mein ALLAH ta’ala ne inke fitne aur fasad ko tafseel se bayan farmaya.
Munafiqeen ke ALLAH aur musalmano ko dhoka dene ke silsile mein aitrazat ke jawabat
YuKhadio’ona ka mana hai, kisi shaks ke saath kiye huwe makr o fareb ya saazish ko mukhfi rakhkar isse khair khwahi aur hamdardi ka izhar karna, jiska khulasa hai usko dhoka dena.
Munafiqon ka musalmano ko dhoka dena yeh tha keh woh musalmano par yeh zahir karte the keh woh momin hain, aur apne kufr ko makhfi rakhte taake musalmano ke khufiya mansoobon par mutalley hon. Aur phir iski khabar musalmano ke dushman yahudiyo aur mushriko tak pohuncha dein.
Is ayat mein yeh farmaya keh munafiqeen ALLAH aur musalmano ko dhoka dete hain. Musalmano ko dhoka dene ki toh wazahat hogayi.
Ab suwal yeh hai keh ALLAH ko dhoka dena kis tarah sahih hoga? Kyunke ALLAH taala se koi cheez makhfi nahi hoti.
- Iska jawab yeh hai keh yahan lafz ALLAH se pehle lafz Rasool bihi taur par muzaaf mahzoof hai. Aur mana yeh hai keh woh RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ko dhoka dete the.
- Dosra jawab yeh hai keh chuke RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ALLAH ta’ala ke naaib aur khalifa hain. Isiliye RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ke saath jo muamla kiya jaaye woh ALLAH ta’ala ke saath muamla hai. Isliye RasoolALLAH (ﷺ) ko dhoka dena ALLAH ko dhoka dena hai, jaisa keh ALLAH ta’ala ne in aayat mein wazeh farmaya hai:
Yeh majaz
Shao’or ka mana
ALLAH ta’ala ne farmaya, woh sirf apne apko dhoka dete hain. Aur woh iska shao’or nahi rakhte. Aqal se jo idraak kiya jaaye usko ilm kehte hain. Aur hawas se jo idraak kiya jaaye usko shao’or kehte hain.
Nifaq ki qismein
Nifaq do tarah ka hota hai. Ek nifaq fil a’mal jiska waqoo’ fee zamana bohat hai. Dosra nifaq fil aiteqaad. Nifaq fil aiteqaad ki 3 suratein hain.
- Ek yeh keh dil mein qaTa’n aap (sallallahu a’laihi wa sallam) ke sache hone ka aiteqad nahi tha. Balke dil qata’n munkir tha albatta baaz dunyawi masalih ke paishe nazar is androni jazba ke bar khilaf zahir kiya jaaye.
- Dosre yeh keh dil mein taraddud ho keh musalmano ki achi halat dekhkar kabhi dil unki taraf maayil hojata ho lekin nagawar haalaat paish aane par phir musalmano ke taraf se bad aqeeda hojata ho.
- Teesri surat yeh keh dil mein sachayi ki thodi si kiran toh aayi magar dunyawi aghraaz ne phir ghalba paaliya aur usko mukhalifat e Islam par aamada kardiya.
Islam ke bad-tareen dushman
Yeh teeno qismein An Hazrat (ﷺ) ke daur e mubarak mein maujood the. Aur yeh log bad-tareen dushman e Islam aur aasteen ka saanp sabit huwe the. In dar-parda dushmano se Islam aur musalmano ko jis qadar nuqsan pohuncha khullam khulla dushmano se itna nahi pohuncha.
Isliye Surah e Munafiqoon, surah tauba aur surah Baqarah ka poora ruku aur dosri bohat si aayat mein inki qali’ee kholi gayi aur inke baare mein sakht tar hukum nazil huwe. Jaan nisar sahaba aur mukhliseen yeh hukum sunkar is qadar khaaif huwe keh zahir wa baatin ke zara se ikhtelaf par inko apne andar nifaq ka shuba hone laga.
